Understanding a credential
What a credential record contains
- A holder account. At issuance, the record is linked to a candidate profile. Public verification does not expose identity documents.
- Programme and dates. The record identifies the programme, issue date, and expiry where recorded. Do not infer assessment scores from a credential alone.
- Current status. Verification distinguishes validity, expiry, issuer revocation, and holder withdrawal when an account is closed. Restricted sharing limits the displayed detail.
- A shareable reference. Use the identifier to check the record on or off ELAREH. Each employer decides whether it meets their requirements; acceptance or exemption from a retake is not guaranteed.
A credential record is not, by itself, proof of a completed identity-document review or a scored assessment.
