"Verified" is a word we have to earn
The emerald badge appears in exactly one situation: a real person, identity-checked, performed a real task, scored against a published rubric, within the validity window, with integrity clear or reviewed. Anything less is not verified — and doesn't wear the mark.

Levels
Bands that mean the same thing everywhere
Understands core concepts; executes with guidance.
Handles routine tasks independently.
Delivers production-quality work unaided.
Solves hard cases; raises the bar around them.
Rare depth; the person others escalate to.
Bands are set per assessment version from rubric thresholds — not from a curve against other candidates, so one cohort's strength never deflates another's result.
Kept honest
A badge that can age, answer and retract
Trust needs a paper trail both ways — so every verified skill carries its own maintenance rules, visible wherever the badge appears.
Skills age; credentials say so. Expiry is visible everywhere the badge appears, and renewal is a shorter re-assessment.
A credential's integrity status is part of the record. Flags are human-reviewed, appealable, and shown as evidence.
Proven fraud revokes a credential — and its verification page says "revoked", not 404.
