“Verified” is a word we have to earn
The emerald badge appears only when a real person, with their identity checked at account level, completes a real task. The task is scored against a published rubric within the credential’s validity period. A person reviews any integrity concerns. Anything less is not verified and does not receive the mark.

Levels
A given band means the same thing everywhere
Understands core concepts; works with guidance.
Handles routine tasks independently.
Delivers production-quality work unaided.
Solves hard cases and raises the bar for others.
Rare depth; the person others turn to for help.
Bands are set for each assessment version using rubric thresholds—not a curve based on other candidates. One cohort’s strength cannot lower another candidate’s result.
Kept honest
What keeps every badge trustworthy
Trust requires a clear record of a credential’s validity and status. Every verified credential therefore has maintenance rules that remain visible wherever its badge appears.
Skills age; credentials say so. Expiry is visible wherever the badge appears, and renewal uses a shorter reassessment.
A credential’s integrity status is part of its record. Flags are reviewed by people, can be appealed and are shown as evidence.
Proven fraud revokes a credential. Its public verification page says “revoked”—it does not disappear behind a 404.
