French Foundation: A1 to A2
This course is built for genuine beginners in French — no prior knowledge assumed. Over eight weeks it moves from A1 to A2 on the CEFR scale, the level at which everyday, familiar situations stop requiring mental translation. The four modules cover listening and speaking survival skills, reading and writing short texts, the core grammar (présent and passé composé) that unlocks this transition, and a final review against real A2 descriptors. Every lesson is built around situations a real beginner actually encounters in French: introductions, shopping, asking directions, ordering food. This course deliberately has no exam attached to it — it is general foundation French, useful on its own and also a solid base before moving into TEF Canada or TCF Canada exam-specific preparation. The closing self-assessment is designed to be an honest checkpoint against real A2 descriptors, not a formality.
